Lounge Music
Unter Lounge Music oder auch kurz Lounge werden verschiedenen musikalische Stilarten zusammengefasst, die in erster Linie zur Entspannung geeignet sind. Dazu gehören elektronisch erzeugte Sounds wie Ambient, Easy Listening und Trip Hop, aber auch ruhigere Spielformen aus dem Jazz oder House (Acid Jazz, Nu Jazz). Dieser entspannte Soundteppich wird besonders gerne in Bars und Lounges eingesetzt. Er eignet sich aber auch gut zum Chillen und Relaxen in den eigenen vier Wänden oder auf (Cocktail-)Partys.
Die Musikindustrie hat zur Jahrtausendwende eine regelrechte Lounge-Welle ausgelöst, indem sie eine Vielzahl an Lounge-Compilations (z.B. Buddha-Bar) auf den Markt gebracht hat. Inzwischen gibt es auch jede Menge erstklassige Internet-Radiosender, die zudem meist abwechslungsreicher und aktueller sind als die einschlägigen Compilations.
